Change Is It For The Better?

I have recently had to experience a lot of changes in the women I have had the honor to associate with. More or less we've parted company and gone our separate ways. And as much as it saddens me sometimes to have to let go of people that I've grown so fond of, people I have attached emotional ties to; I have to remember that nothing happens in GODs world by mistake. And because HE has seen fit to remove people from my space, I have to begin to look forward to the new women he will put in my path. And as I let go of the old, I also have to ask what did I learn from this relationship? How can I grow from this experience? And I will thank HIM for the opportunity to have had that person in my life for however brief the moment was. For without that experience, that relationship, that friendship, my growing would not have been as significant as it had become! So to those who have come into my world and are no gone, I want to say THANK YOU! Life is a much better place for me now that I have met you! I hope that I have added something to your life, because you have certainly added something to mine!

What is love? Baby, Don't Hurt Me!

This is something that was shared with me awhile ago. It is good "Food for Thought."

Can you raed tihs? Olny srmat poelpe can. I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig, huh? Yaeh, and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt.

What an incredible mind God gave us humans - eh? Scientists estimate that the human brain calculates roughly 100 trillion calculations per second! So no wonder we can burn through a paragraph without even needing all the letters. We actually have the mental capacity to 'fix' the letters in each word so it ends up sounding right in our minds.

Ah - but then there are the times when we often turn off our brains because a word or concept comes along that we just can't get our minds around.

And that word or concept would be...Trigonometry? Nope.....Physics? Nah.

Rocket Science? Piece of cake actually - compared to this subject, Goddesses.

LOVE... Wouldn't you agree? Like the paragraph above, it oftentimes is a jumbled mess...but one that even our awesome brains can't figure out. Think about it. I love Monster Drinks, I love Rock-n-Roll, I love sunny days, and I love my wife. If you Google 'definition: love,' you'll get around 50,900,000 returns.

Exactly. That's why the extremely smart folks called the Ancient Greeks had four different words for love - so they could tell the difference and not end up in an emotional ditch because of all the confusion. They made sure that when you said you 'love' someone, there were clear lines between sexual attraction, friendship, or even a non-emotional commitment to seek someone's highest good.

Have you ever been in the emotional ditch? Yeah, me too. Probably because you said you loved someone - meaning you had strong feelings for them as a person and you wanted the best for them. Then they said they loved you - meaning as long as you made them happy, were good looking, or put out physically for them. Am I wrong?

Let me offer the true definition of love from the Author of love.
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.

Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God's law.

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your selfish nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in Love.

The Four Loves: agape | storge | philia | eros......

Knowing When To Walk Away

I've been listening to all the news and gossip about Chris Brown and Rihanna. And my humanitarian side is always for the underdog, in this case it's Chris Brown. As I've read the gossip, the personal statements, etc. I was reminded of a time in my life where I pushed men to the point where they just couldn't walk away. I wouldn't let them, it was me who needed to walk away, but I was so intent on having my say and my way that the man eventually did what he had to do. Now I'm not saying that Rihanna did any of this, but we as women are so use the man being the abuser. In this day and time, women have learned how to be pretty abusive. In either case it's not right. You see I became who I was because of the abuse I had to suffer through before I found my feminine powers. We are not as weak as we let on. And those that are weak, it's a figment of your imagination. Now when I got mad and spit on that man, his first reaction was to slap the taste out of my mouth. And believe it or not when he slapped me, I spit on him again. And of course, the fight was on and popping from there. And yes I was young, and the things I was taught about relationships and men was from the streets. That still didn't make it right. Now I imagine a lot of women have a lot to say about my opinion, please feel free to express your point of view at any given time. I would love to hear it, after all there is always two side to every coin! Peace!

THE GODDESS OF WEALTH

Theres a GODDESS for every spectrum in life, a Goddess of the elements such as fire and rain. A Goddess came into the existence since the beginning of time.

Mother Earth is a Goddess, so are the many Goddesses that are still worshiped and praised all over the world, such as the Goddess of Wind, Oya, also known as the Goddess of change to Africa and there's Venus, the Roman Goddess of love and beauty.

Using tiny boats to launch from the shores, Brazilian women make offerings of food and flowers to a beloved Yoruban ocean goddess who they credit with helping them heal their lives, her name is, Yemaya. There is also the most famous Hawaiian goddess, her legend comes to life on Hawaii's Big Island, where it is said she lives in an active volcano, Pele is her name.

Although the Jewish religion does not practice the personification of God, the tradition of mystical Judaism has long identified the feminine nature of God as an "indwelling presence." "Shekinah.

I pictured a goddess, Lakshumi, the Hindu goddess of fortune.

All of these goddesses, archetypes, are among many and are spoken and referred to constantly in cultures all over the world.

This should not be a mystery about Goddesses, nor is it the first time you've heard of one.

You are a Goddess !

A Goddess is your best friend, and you are that person !

In Goddess Mode

So I get up and go outside, start my car so it can warm up, now we're all ready to go and what do I see? My car has a flat. I was so furious, not at the car, but at myself because I saw this tire getting low the day before, and I just ignored it thinking I would take care of it the next day. Now it's 7 am and I've got to get the kids to school, and there is no one around to help me out. So I get into Goddess Mode....... I pop the trunk and make sure my spare is still good, and I change my tire. Now it's been at least 15 years since I've had to actually get on the ground and hike the car up and change the tire. And I know most of you Goddesses probably have road side assistance or a good man or husband you can call on. But what are you going to do when you're in a situation like I was in? I'm single, don't have a man right now, can't afford road side assistance, my money has to go in too many other directions. So I did what comes naturally for me, I resolve the probelm by changing the tire myself. And I had one of my daughters outside and she helped me change the tire.

So when it's time to get into Goddess Mode are you ready? We don't all have the luxury to have someone to call on at a moments notice. And I've always had to be more independent than most. Because of the choices that I've made in life, people tend to judge me or put unnecessary demands on me that I'm not going to bother to attempt to meet. I think that's what makes people call me a "strong black woman," and I don't see the strength in me that everyone else sees. I see determination to be the person that I feel that I'm meant to be, not the woman you or anyone else may want me to be. I have to be able to look myself in the mirror everyday, so what I do during the course of a day, what I say to people during the course of a day, the decisions that I make during the course of a day, I have to be able to live with the consequences of these actions. So when I get into Goddess Mode, I'm just doing what needs to be done!
Check out your Goddess Mode, and if you don't have one, it's only because you didn't know you have one. All Goddesses have a Goddess Mode. I'd love to hear about yours sometimes!

Goddess of Love

Do we currently reflect Valentine's Day the way it was meant to be celebrated? Valentine's Day is expressed with gifts of chocolates, lovely cards, and engagement rings? What is the real story behind this highly-rated celebration? I wonder if a Goddess had something to do with Valentine's Day? Well, I started looking for information about Valentine's Day and this is what I found out for us, Goddesses.

It is said to have began in the Middle Ages. Some say the day is named for a bishop named Valentine, who was stationed in the Roman Empire. Okay.....Bishop Valentine took pity on soldiers who were forbidden to marry or have a sweetheart by Emperor Claudius II. The Bishop began marrying the soldiers and was soon found out and jailed.

The Emperor tried to convert Bishop Valentine into worshiping the Roman Gods and the Bishop tried to convert the Emperor to Christianity. Both failed and the Bishop was sentenced to be executed around February 24, 270 A.D.

There is another twist to this story also. It is said that Bishop Valentine fell in love with his jailer and sent her a love note signed "from your Valentine." An air of romance surrounded his situation and those who knew about this romance spread it throughout England and France and Bishop Valentine soon became Saint Valentine.

The common symbols of Valentine’s Day today are cupids, hearts, roses, teddy bears, and words of love and adoration. Children exchange valentine cards and adults have continued this tradition of card giving which makes this day, next to Christmas, the second largest card-sending holiday of the year.

Cupids bows and arrows represent the Roman myth. Cupid was the son of Venus, the Goddess of love. The cupid's arrow would strike the unsuspecting desired person making him or her fall in love.

Yes, there is a Goddess connection to Valentine's Day
Venus the Goddess of Love!

Happy Valentine's Day!

A Goddess Growing

Goddesses I'm growing! Working with such wonderful women as I have since being apart of Goddesses Blessing Goddesses has allowed me to grow in a way I never expected. You see being the mother of such a large family, and being a single mother of such a large family, I am use to telling people what to do. And I'm used to having to be more like a drill sergeant, telling who to get up and do what and do it now, you know what I mean. So in the beginning, I was doing the same thiing with the Goddess that I work so closely with. And I must tell you, they work with me with such grace and humility, and they know that it's just my way, and they still love me just as I am. I couldn't ask for any more that what they give me so unconditionally!

But I've come to realize that if I want a better relationship with these beautiful women, I have to learn to communicate differently. So I've been slowly changing the way I conversate, and I must admit it is extremely hard! But I'm trying! And that's the most important part!.

So Goddesses if you've come to a growing point in your life, in whatever relationship you are in, embrace it! It's a wonderful feeling, and a wonderful place to be!
